Jerusalem (Ashdod), Israel
Regardless of your faith, philosophy, or grasp of ancient history, you cannot fail to be moved and awed by this magnificent and holy city and its shrines, including the Western Wall, last remnant of the ramparts surrounding the Temple of the Jews, originally erected by Solomon; the exquisite Dome of the Rock atop the Temple Mount, the oldest extant Islamic monument, honoring a stone sacred to Jews and Moslems alike; and the Via Dolorosa, where one can walk the Stations of the Cross, along a route of narrow, winding lanes, over paving stones some of which were in place at the time of Christ.
Alexandria, Egypt
Just a small fishing village when appropriated by Alexander the Great in 332 BC, Alexandria grew to be a major player in the commerce and politics of the ancient world, and an important center of learning. In fact the Library of Alexandria was tasked with acquiring the world’s cumulative knowledge for its collection. Here Euclid invented geometry, and Caesar met Cleopatra. Though little remains of the ancient city, as the new one was built on top of it, it remains a gateway to Cairo, the pyramids, and the fascinating history and vibrant culture of one of the world’s oldest civilizations.
Rhodes, Greece
Sailing into this port two millennia ago, you would have been stunned by the guardian 100-foot Colossus of Rhodes. Then as now the sun would likely have been shining, as Rhodes is said to have more fine days than anywhere else in Europe. Today diverse historical influences are evident in an old town remarkably intact – in particular the medieval presence of the Knights of St John, who occupied the island as a bastion of Christendom against the Turks. They left behind a turreted gateway citadel, and a fortified palace complete with crenellated walls, moat, and drawbridges.
Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey
Kusadasi is your port of access to an age-old civilization. Ephesus was once the second largest metropolitan area in the Roman Empire, eclipsed only by Rome herself. Explore this city of construction both monumental and mundane. It was famed for the Temple of Artemis, one of the wonders of the ancient world; the Library of Celsus, with its thousands of scrolls; and its amphitheater, with a capacity of 24,000 spectators. But you can also imagine yourself in the sandals of a resident as you stroll the streets, past marketplaces, and into bath complexes that offered piped-in hot water, massage, and sauna.
Mykonos, Greece
Mykonos is living proof that picture postcard destinations do exist. Its many charms include its iconic windmills, fabulous beaches, and an irresistible traditional town with a maze of twisting streets and alleys originally designed to confuse marauding pirates. Dazzling sunlight reflects off of whitewashed houses and hundreds of small chapels. Other adornments include shaded courtyards and balconies lush with flowers, and a lively nightlife that some claim is the best in Europe. Booking information
To reserve a cabin(s), you must complete our reservations enquiry form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your enquiry, we will contact you via phone or email, to advise of availability and confirm the final price is correct. A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation notice and at this stage the deposit is processed on your credit card or your bank deposit has been received. Your deposit then becomes subject to the cancellation policy of the cruise line and Cruise Republic. These are stated in the terms and conditions.
When your booking has been confirmed we will send you your cruise booking number for the cruise line. Once you receive your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date without incurring a penalty. If you are booking via phone, please first make sure you have read the terms and conditions. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the customer to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on/via this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Cruise Ship company/operator.
Amendments
Once you have paid a deposit against your cruise, any changes made to the booking will incur an amendment fee of $25 plus and applicable fees set you by the cruise line. Please see the Cruise Company's terms and conditions for cancellation and amendment policy.
Cancellations
Once a deposit is made towards your cruise holiday it is deemed that you have accepted our terms and conditions, so are subject to any cancellation fees. Bookings canceled after the deposit is paid, will incur a cancellation fee of $200. Plus any additional cancellation fees set out by the cruise line. Please see the Cruise Company's terms and conditions for cancellation and amendment policy.
Payments
Payments towards your cruise holiday made by credit cards are subject to a transaction fee of 1.5%. Cruise Republic accept Visa and Mastercard Cards only. Payments made by bank deposit do not incur any transaction fees.
Privacy
Privacy of your information is an absolute priority to us. When you book we request whether you are interested in receiving further offers from us. If you decline, we will not email you with such offers. We also always give you the opportunity to unsubscribe and opt out of receiving these emails. We treat your details as confidential and we NEVER disclose your information to third parties other than the supplier who is fulfilling your cruise holiday.
